Terry is a two-time Get Up and Gallop Champion, winning with Team Terlin in 2019 and 2023!

TAYLOR WOOD

JoyRide, affectionately known as Leo, is 14-year-old Dutch warmblood gelding with a huge heart and an endearing affection for bananas. He and Taylor have been together for four years and have picked up many memorable moments along the way. In 2022 they were part of the Gold Medal winning Canadian Children’s team at the North American Youth Championships and in 2023 they were the 1.30m jr/am Canadian champions at the Royal Winter Fair.

Earlier this summer Taylor competed with her two horses, JoyRide and SunJoy Z out in western Canada at Thunderbird Show Park and Spruce Meadows winning some top ribbons. Taylor and SunJoy Z just returned from North American Youth Championships (7 countries participating) in early August, coming home with a gold medal in the Pre-Junior team event for Canada as well as an individual bronze medal. She is excited and honored to be part of Spurs and Sparkles and looking forward to this fun evening for a great cause.

Terry Marcotte spent 35 years at CTV Ottawa, specializing in sports coverage.  He is a musician and co-author of the national best seller ‘Hockey Moms: The Heart of the Game’. Terry is a two-time Get Up and Gallop Champion, winning with Team Terlin in 2019 and 2023.
